According to URN in The Independent, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit arrested six senior Kapchorwa District officials, including the Chief Administrative Officer, District Health Officer, District Engineer and Kapchorwa Municipality Town Clerk, over alleged corruption, abuse of office and mismanagement of projects. The arrests were ordered by Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi during an accountability meeting under the 'Expose the Corrupt' campaign, after residents raised complaints about road works, recruitment and the auction of a health centre generator. The minister said the campaign was not a witch-hunt and directed police to look for other implicated officials who had not appeared.
