Three French journalists expelled from Uganda after election coverage

Daily Monitor reported that France 24's Bastien Renouil and two RFI journalists, who had come to cover the election, were made to leave Uganda; one RFI journalist was refused entry and the others were taken to Entebbe Airport and left on 20 January 2026. ICT Minister Chris Baryomunsi called it an administrative matter, while Reporters Without Borders and rights defenders condemned it.
