Civic Space & Media Freedom Verified Wakiso 8 Oct 2025 Severity: 2/5

According to NTV Uganda, a TikToker who posts as "Tutu the Man" was charged before an Entebbe Grade One Magistrate over content posted between August and September that prosecutors said was meant to ridicule the President, and over a video in which he removed and buried a Museveni campaign poster. He pleaded guilty to the second count and not guilty to the first, and was remanded until 17 October 2025 because no state prosecutor was present. NTV said he is the seventh TikToker charged with hate speech-related offences concerning the President and his family.
