Trade order enforcement in Kumi Municipality ends in running battles and is called off

According to the Daily Monitor, enforcement of the trade order by Kumi Municipality officials ended in running battles before the exercise was called off. Mayor Richard Ochom described the exercise as an abuse of the rights of the urban poor, while Town Clerk Emmanuel Okaje said they were enforcing a Ministry of Local Government order ratified by Cabinet.
