UPDF Military Police and police mount checkpoint on Gayaza-Kampala Road near Bobi Wine's home

Security personnel carried out vehicle checks on the Gayaza-Kampala Road near the turn-off to Bobi Wine's residence, causing hours of traffic gridlock, according to the Daily Monitor. Defence spokesperson Col Chris Magezi said the joint UPDF Military Police and police operation was to enforce traffic rules and denied it targeted the NUP leader; police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke called it temporary and routine.
