UPDF soldiers and police block presidential candidate Henry Tumukunde from entering Kisoro district

UPDF soldiers and police at a roadblock on Kanaba hills in Kanaa sub-county stopped independent presidential candidate Gen. Henry Tumukunde from proceeding to campaign in Kisoro, according to The Independent. The Kisoro District Police Commander ordered him back to Rubanda, and the Resident District Commissioner said he was not expected in Kisoro that day and would be allowed once cleared by the Electoral Commission. Tumukunde argued that the difficult terrain had prevented him from keeping to the programme, and he went on to campaign in Rubanda town council.
