Protest & Civil Unrest Single source Kiboga 17 Dec 2025 Severity: 1/5

More than 5,000 war veterans, camped at Kitagenda Primary School in Rwamata Town Council since 2017, complained that the government has not paid compensation for losses from the 1981-1986 bush war. Through the Patriotic Veterans Association - Kasejjere-Kigemuzi, they said President Museveni had pledged Shs66 billion, iron sheets and cement at four meetings, but follow-ups had produced nothing. Leaders said they would not leave until they are compensated.
