Nile Post reports that 46 candidates were nominated for parliamentary seats across Kampala divisions on the first day of the Electoral Commission's nomination exercise. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said there were no major incidents, though large crowds of supporters escorting candidates, including Opposition Leader Joel Ssenyonyi, caused traffic congestion. The outlet adds that post-nomination celebrations by NRM supporters of Minsa Kabanda at Nakivubo Blue Stadium briefly became chaotic.
