High Court dismisses Mufumbiro petition, upholds Ruhindi win in Nakawa Division East

According to ChimpReports, Justice Allan Paul Nshimye of the High Court in Kampala dismissed the election petition of NUP's Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro against NRM's Fredrick Ruhindi, confirming Ruhindi as MP for Nakawa Division East. The judge found that the Electoral Commission unlawfully left results from 22 polling stations out of the tally, but ruled this did not substantially affect the outcome, and found the other allegations unsupported by credible evidence. Mufumbiro, who is in custody, indicated he would appeal.
