High Court dismisses petition against Nakawa West MP Joel Ssenyonyi, orders EC to pay part of costs

According to ChimpReports, Justice Allan Paul Nshimye of the High Court in Kampala dismissed Ivan Bwowe's petition against Joel Ssenyonyi's election as MP, finding that the petitioner had not proved the January 15 election breached electoral law. The judge nonetheless faulted the Electoral Commission for errors on nomination forms that described the constituency as "Nakawa West" rather than the gazetted name, and ordered it to pay a quarter of the costs of Bwowe and Ssenyonyi.
