Activist petitions High Court to quash appointment of Bank of Uganda supervision director Twinemanzi Tumubweine

According to The Independent, activist Arnold Anthony Mukose filed a petition at the High Court Civil Division in Kampala asking it to cancel the appointment and confirmation of Dr Twinemanzi Tumubweine as Bank of Uganda's executive director in charge of supervision. Mukose argues the recruitment was procedurally improper, with no advertisement of the job, and that Twinemanzi lacks the required commercial banking experience; he also cites an Inspectorate of Government investigation that has not been concluded.
