Corruption & Abuse of Office Verified Kampala 12 Oct 2026 Severity: 1/5

According to the Daily Monitor, Justice David Makumbi of the Anti-Corruption Court advised former Karamoja Affairs Minister Mary Goretti Kitutu and her co-accused to consider a plea bargain if they believe they are liable. The advice came after the prosecution told the court it was ready to proceed with the four-year-old iron sheets case, following the dismissal of an appeal that had stalled it.
