Assessors advise Anti-Corruption Court to find ex-minister Agnes Nandutu guilty in Karamoja iron sheets case

Justice & Court Rulings Verified Kampala 1 Apr 2026 Severity: 1/5

Three assessors in the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court in Kampala advised Justice Jane Okuo Kajuga to convict former State Minister for Karamoja Affairs Agnes Nandutu of dealing with suspect property, according to the Daily Monitor. The case concerns 2,000 iron sheets procured for vulnerable communities in Karamoja that the prosecution says were diverted to her farm; Nandutu has said she acted in good faith for landslide victims in Bududa. The judge said she would consider the non-binding opinion and set judgment for 8 April 2026.
