Buganda Road court grants bail to eight medical interns and health workers arrested at pay protest

Grade One Magistrate Rophine Acayo of Buganda Road Magistrate's Court granted cash bail of Shs200,000 each to eight medical interns and health workers charged over the 12 August protest, with sureties bonded at Shs3 million each, The Independent reports. Medical workers who came to court in solidarity were told to remove their clinical coats, and the case was adjourned to 21 September 2026 for hearing.
