Buganda Road court remands activist Sarah Bireete, defers bail ruling to 28 January

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate's Court kept lawyer Sarah Bireete, director of the Centre for Constitutional Governance, on remand and set 28 January for its ruling on her bail application, according to the Daily Monitor. She is charged with unlawfully obtaining or disclosing Electoral Commission voter data, which she denies; prosecutors opposed bail on medical and surety grounds, while the defence cited the presumption of innocence.
