Buganda Road court remands four Rooted in Resistance members to Luzira over oil petition march

The Daily Monitor reports that Buganda Road Chief Magistrate's Court remanded four members of Rooted in Resistance to Luzira Prison until 4 September 2026 on public nuisance charges arising from their march to Parliament. Their lawyer said the court appeared to be influenced by an earlier case in which eight people were convicted, while the magistrate referred to a warning she had given in that similar case.
