Bukedea drivers' association petitions IGG alleging members' IDs were used to account for Shs 675m in Parliament funds

Corruption & Abuse of Office Verified Bukedea 2 Jul 2026 Severity: 1/5

The Kachumbala Drivers and Loaders Association petitioned the Inspector General of Government, alleging that its members' national IDs and driving permits were used without their knowledge to account for more than Shs 675 million under the Parliamentary Commission. The petition names Parliament's director of communications, Chris Obore Ariko, and says none of the members received the money; one member told The Observer he only learnt of it when IGG officials came to the village. The IGG spokesperson had not commented by publication.
