A Kampala businessman was arraigned before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate's Court by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, working with CID and the ODPP, over the alleged theft of Shs815 million from the Uganda Liberal Teachers SACCO. Prosecutors allege that in May 2025 he and others withdrew the money without authorisation under a service agreement with former SACCO leaders to develop land in Kyangwali, Hoima District, which SHACU said was found not to exist. He was remanded until 14 January 2026.
