Parliamentary candidate Ivan Bwowe filed a petition with the Electoral Commission arguing that seven rivals were nominated for 'Nakawa West', which he says is not a gazetted constituency, and asked to be declared the only valid candidate for Nakawa Division West. One of the respondents, Herbert Anderson Burora, said on X that the petition was baseless because the Commission had verified and stamped all the nominations. ChimpReports reported that the EC had not yet responded.
Disputed: Bwowe says the seven rivals were nominated for a non-existent constituency, while Burora says the EC verified and stamped all nominations and so recognised the constituency.
