Capt. Denis Oola accepts state brief lawyers in treason case; Besigye and Lutale decline

A report by state brief advocates filed in the High Court Criminal Division says Capt. Denis Oola Oya, a co-accused in the treason case against Dr. Kizza Besigye, agreed to state-funded representation after the lawyers visited Luzira Upper Prison. According to the report, Besigye and Hajji Obeid Lutale did not instruct the lawyers, saying the two-week period granted by court to choose counsel had not expired.
