Justice & Court Rulings Verified Kampala 23 Sep 2026 Severity: 1/5

Two civil society organisations, CEHURD and Center for Women Justice Uganda Ltd, filed a case against the Attorney General in the Civil Division of the High Court in Kampala challenging the requirement for parental, guardian or relative consent before emancipated and mature adolescents can access sexual and reproductive health services. According to the Daily Monitor, they argue the requirement violates adolescents' rights to health, privacy and dignity.
