The Standards, Utilities and Wildlife Court in Makindye remanded journalist Dean Lubowa Saava to Luzira Prison until 13 October 2025 on charges of running an unlicensed online TV station, defying Uganda Communications Commission directives and defamation. UCC's head of legal affairs said the Commission had engaged him and suspended his operations before, while Saava denied the charges and his lawyers said they would challenge the remand.
