Court martial convicts two former government informers of murder over 2025 staged bomb attacks in Kampala

The General Court Martial in Makindye convicted two former government informers on two counts of murder after they pleaded guilty to roles in staged suicide-bomb incidents that killed two women in 2025, the Daily Monitor reported. The prosecution named UPDF Lt Col Ephraim Byaruhanga, who denies the charges and awaits trial, as the alleged mastermind. The prosecution asked for the death penalty and the defence for leniency; sentencing was set for October 12, 2026.
