A three-justice Court of Appeal panel led by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire directed the Uganda Prisons Service to let lawyers meet four people convicted in 2018 over the theft of 15.4 billion shillings in pension funds, including Bob Kasango and Jimmy Lwamafa. The lawyers told court they had not met their clients since February 2020 because of COVID-19 restrictions on prison visits. The court set timelines for written submissions and adjourned the appeal to 27 November 2020.
