Court of Appeal upholds order for Imperial Royale Hotel to refund Shs 5.4bn CHOGM 2007 funds to government

According to ChimpReports, a three-judge Court of Appeal panel dismissed Imperial Royale Hotel Ltd's appeal and upheld a High Court order to refund about Shs 5.4 billion paid by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for CHOGM 2007 accommodation and facilities. The court found the hotel had breached the contract because its facilities were not ready in the agreed period, and also upheld Shs 800 million in general damages plus costs.
