Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa presents 15 NUP and FDC parliamentary candidates defecting to NRM in Kampala

Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa presented 15 opposition parliamentary candidates, mostly from NUP and FDC, who had joined the ruling NRM at a press conference at the party's Kyadondo headquarters. Tayebwa denied accusations, particularly from NUP, that the defectors had been bribed or coerced, saying they joined after months of engagement. NRM Deputy Secretary General Rose Namayanja welcomed them.
