Appearing by video link from Luzira Prison, former Kampala Lord Mayor and PFF leader Erias Lukwago told the Makindye Chief Magistrate's Court that Mulago specialists had diagnosed him with five chronic conditions and that prison conditions endangered his life. His lawyer Medard Ssegona asked the court to expedite specialised treatment, and the court adjourned for an hour to consider the request, according to ChimpReports.
Disputed: ChimpReports reports that the Makindye Chief Magistrate denied Erias Lukwago bail; The Observer and The Independent report that the bail application was adjourned to 16 July over his medical condition.
