Election Related Single source Kampala 28 Jan 2026 Severity: 2/5

According to The Independent, disagreements broke out at three of four polling stations at Hormisdallen School in Kifumbira II after biometric (BVVK) machines rejected ballots during counting in the municipal and division councillor elections. The paper reported that one agent was escorted out after slapping a rival candidate's agent in a dispute over an invalidated ballot, and police intervened to calm tensions; polling officials said they were required to invalidate any ballot the machine flagged red.
