EAC flags off 61-member election observation mission in Kampala

The East African Community deployed 61 observers drawn from six partner states to observe Uganda's general election, following an invitation by the government. At the flag-off in Kampala, head of mission Edda Mukabagwiza said the observers would act impartially and issue a preliminary statement after the vote, and EAC Secretary General Veronica Nduva urged acceptance of the results.
