EC nominates pardoned ex-convict Vicent Tumwesigwe for Masindi Municipality MP after its tribunal rules in his favour

The Electoral Commission nominated Vicent Tumwesigwe as the sixth candidate for Masindi Municipality MP, according to the Daily Monitor. This came after the EC Tribunal, chaired by Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama, ruled that his presidential pardon restored his rights and could not be overridden by the Anti-Corruption Act. His earlier nomination had been rejected by the returning officer.
