The Electoral Commission declared Speaker of Parliament Anita Among unopposed for the Bukedea Woman MP seat after no other candidate was nominated. NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi accused her of using state institutions against rivals, and opposition leaders and some residents said the outcome undermined the credibility of the election.
