Electoral Commission dismisses Ssekikubo's complaint against Rwashande's nomination for Lwemiyaga County

The Electoral Commission rejected a complaint by incumbent Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo challenging the nomination of NRM flagbearer Brig. Gen (Rtd) Emmanuel Rwashande for the 2026 parliamentary race. According to the Daily Monitor, EC chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama's letter of 3 December 2025 found that Rwashande's academic papers had been equated and that he had the required ten supporters, and upheld the returning officer's decision to nominate him.
