Electoral Commission nominates 14 parliamentary candidates in Mubende District on first day

The Electoral Commission office in Mubende District nominated fourteen aspirants for parliamentary seats ahead of the 2026 general elections, according to Nile Post. Several nominees are running as independents after losing or skipping the NRM primaries, alongside NRM, NUP and DP flag bearers. Returning Officer Ferdinand Mulekezi said the process went smoothly and that the remaining four aspirants were expected to be nominated the next day.
