Erias Lukwago hands over Kampala Lord Mayor's office to Ronald Balimwezo at City Hall

The Daily Monitor reports that outgoing Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago formally handed over office to his successor, Ronald Balimwezo, at City Hall, ending a 15-year tenure. In his farewell address Lukwago blamed the KCCA Act and what he described as central government and presidential interference for weakening elected city leaders, and called for amendment of the Act and higher budget allocations to Kampala.
