Erias Lukwago suspends Kampala mayoral campaign over arrest of presidential candidates

ChimpReports reports that Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago suspended his campaign for re-election, saying the arrests of presidential candidates Robert Kyagulanyi and Patrick Amuriat were brutal and illegal. He also criticised the heavy security deployment in Kampala and other districts and urged the Electoral Commission chairperson to act impartially.
