FDC's Chance Kahindo declared winner of Kasese Municipality mayoral race

Kasese District Returning Officer Godfrey Mbabazi declared FDC candidate Chance Kahindo Sibyavugha winner of the Kasese Municipality mayoral race with 14,893 votes, ahead of NRM's Jolly Kateeba with 4,638, according to the Daily Monitor. The paper reports he is the only opposition candidate in Kasese District to win in the 2026 elections, in which the NRM took all six parliamentary seats and the district chairmanship.
