FDC's Suzan Norma Otai sues Electoral Commission and Speaker Among over blocked Bukedea Woman MP bid

FDC member Suzan Norma Otai filed a suit at the High Court in Kampala against the Electoral Commission and Speaker Anita Among, arguing that the EC's failure to rule on her 28 October petition over her blocked nomination was illegal and violated her right to a fair hearing. She asked court to compel a ruling and to bar the EC from gazetting any candidate for the seat until her complaint is resolved. EC spokesperson Julius Mucunguzi said aggrieved candidates have a right to go to court and her petition would be handled like any other.
