Former police officer Agasiirwe and co-accused committed to High Court over Joan Kagezi murder

According to The Observer, the Nakawa Chief Magistrate's Court committed former senior police officer Nickson Agasiirwe Karuhanga and a co-accused to the High Court for trial over the 2015 killing of senior prosecutor Joan Kagezi, after the state said investigations were complete. Prosecutors, who said the DPP sanctioned the indictment on 15 December 2025, allege Agasiirwe provided weapons and funding and concealed the murder weapon; both accused were remanded to Luzira Prison.
