General Court Martial agrees Soroti money agent murder case against 16 civilians be tried in Soroti

According to the Daily Monitor, the General Court Martial in Makindye, chaired by Col Frederick Kangwamu, agreed with the prosecution that the case against 16 members of one family, accused of robbing and killing a money agent in Soroti City on April 3, 2026, should be handled within the jurisdiction where the offences allegedly occurred. The prosecution said investigations were incomplete and it was seeking guidance from the DPP; the court fixed October 20 for mention. The prosecution alleges the accused are subject to military law because a firearm ordinarily reserved for the Defence Forces was used.
