General Court Martial charges Brig Gen Barigye Ruheesi and three UPDF officers over diversion of fuel

According to ChimpReports, the General Court Martial in Makindye charged Brig Gen James Barigye Ruheesi, Col David Ocitti Kidega, Maj Innocent Kikongo Mugumya and Capt Kenneth Labwon Kinyera with misusing operational fuel for personal gain. Prosecutors allege the officers diverted about 270,000 litres of diesel meant for operations in Kampala and Jinja between July 2022 and December 2023; all four denied the charges and the case was adjourned to 29 May 2026.
