The General Court Martial in Makindye adjourned the bail application of former Chief of Military Intelligence Maj Gen James Birungi after the prosecution said it was not ready to reply, according to the Daily Monitor. The prosecution told the court that the officer due to swear the opposing affidavit was out of the country, and his remand was extended to October 12, 2026. Birungi, held since August 2025, faces treachery and security-related charges, which he denies.
