Justice & Court Rulings Single source Kampala 23 Apr 2026 Severity: 1/5

The High Court Criminal Division in Kampala, under Justice Emmanuel Baguma, adjourned the treason case against opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye, Obeid Lutale and Captain Denis Oola to 6 and 10 May 2026 so that defence lawyers can keep cross-examining Chief State Attorney Joseph Kyomuhendo. The hearing concerns the prosecution's application to keep its witnesses' identities hidden; according to URN, the court heard that a man said to be an agent of the accused had threatened some witnesses.
