Justice & Court Rulings Verified Kampala 23 Sep 2026 Severity: 1/5

According to the Daily Monitor, Justice Emmanuel Baguma of the High Court in Kampala adjourned the treason trial of opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye to 5 October after the two state prosecutors were absent when the session was due to start. Defence lawyers said the prosecutors were handling another matter and that the accused had not been brought from prison; the judge described it as a last adjournment. A ruling on the admissibility of a flash disk produced by a prosecution witness had been expected that day.
