High Court convicts UPDF captain, police detective and five civilians of 2018 murder of Rukungiri businessman

The High Court in Kampala, through Justice Alex Mackay Ajiji, convicted UPDF Capt Moses Akiba, Detective Corporal Lawrence Muheki and five civilians of murdering a Rukungiri businessman in December 2018, and acquitted an eighth accused, according to the Daily Monitor. The court found that the killing arose from a debt dispute and that Akiba supplied the firearm used; sentencing was adjourned.
