High Court declines habeas corpus for NUP's Muwanga Kivumbi, orders inquiry into his whereabouts

ChimpReports reported that Justice Collins Acellam of the Kampala High Court declined to issue a writ of habeas corpus for NUP deputy president Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, saying his whereabouts were unknown and police denied holding him. The court ordered the respondents to conclude investigations and file an affidavit within seven days, adjourning the case to 29 July; NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya criticised the decision.
