High Court defers plea-taking in Besigye, Lutale and Oola treason case pending stay application

Justice Emmanuel Baguma of the High Court in Kampala postponed plea-taking in the treason case against Kizza Besigye, Hajj Obeid Lutale and UPDF Captain Dennis Oola after the defence said it had filed a constitutional petition and an application to stay the trial, according to the Daily Monitor. The judge ruled the stay application should be heard first and fixed 22 December 2025 for arguments. The prosecution said it had not been served and was ready to proceed.
