High Court defers ruling on Kizza Besigye bail application in treason case to 29 December

Justice Emmanuel Baguma of the High Court in Kampala postponed a ruling on bail and a stay of the treason trial for opposition leader Kizza Besigye, expected on Tuesday, to 29 December. According to a social media statement by his wife Winnie Byanyima, the directive came after 4 p.m. without explanation. Besigye, jointly charged with Hajj Obeid Lutale, remains on remand in Luzira prison.
