High Court dismisses Mabirizi appeal seeking criminal summonses against CDF Muhoozi and 17 others over PLU launch

Justice Gadenya Paul Wolimbwa of the High Court in Kampala dismissed an appeal by lawyer Male Mabirizi, who sought criminal summonses against Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and 17 others over the February 2024 launch of the Patriotic League of Uganda. According to the Daily Monitor, the judge ruled the private complaint stated conclusions without enough facts to establish the alleged offences, and upheld the Nakawa Chief Magistrate's Court's May 2024 refusal to issue summonses.
