High Court dismisses NUP challenge to withdrawal of state funding over its refusal to join IPOD

According to ChimpReports, Justice Collins Acellam of the Kampala High Court dismissed the National Unity Platform's judicial review application against the halt of public funding to parties outside the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue. The judge held that the condition comes from the 2025 amendment to the Political Parties and Organisations Act rather than the Justice Minister's August 2025 directive, and rejected NUP's arguments on hearing, rationality and legitimate expectation; each side was ordered to bear its own costs.
