High Court dismisses Parliamentary Commission bid to strike out former budget office director's suit

Justice Bonny Isaac Teko of the High Court in Kampala rejected an application by the Parliamentary Commission to dismiss, as time-barred, a suit by its former Director of the Budget Office, Samuel Huxley Wanyaka, over his 2018 retirement in public interest. According to the Daily Monitor, the judge held that the claim falls under the Parliamentary Service framework rather than contract or employment law, awarded costs to Wanyaka and ordered the main suit to proceed to hearing.
